- Call or submit the form describing the damage.
- We refer you to an independent restoration contractor serving your area.
- You decide whether to hire them. Ask for a written estimate and check their license at roc.az.gov.
For typical national cost ranges, see HomeAdvisor's water damage restoration cost guide, mold remediation cost guide, and fire and smoke damage restoration cost guide. Actual quotes depend on the damage and the contractor.
What we are, and what we are not
Rillito Restoration Referral is a referral service. We are not a restoration, plumbing, or construction contractor, and we do not perform, supervise, or guarantee any work. When you call or send the form, we pass your request to an independent contractor who serves your part of Pima County. That contractor sets the price, does any inspection, and writes any estimate. Any agreement is directly between you and them.
Before you call
- Stop the water if you safely can. The main shut-off is often near the front hose bib or in a box near the street.
- If there is a gas smell, sparking, or a sagging ceiling, leave the area and call 911 or your utility first.
- Take photos and video of the source and every wet room before moving things.
- Have your address, a short description of what happened, and your insurer's name handy.
How to vet the contractor you are referred to
- Check the license at the Arizona Registrar of Contractors (roc.az.gov) and confirm the license class fits the work.
- Ask about insurance and request a certificate of liability coverage.
- Ask about certifications. Many restoration firms train to IICRC standards; ask which ones their crew holds.
- Get it in writing. Ask for a written scope and estimate before work begins, and read any assignment-of-benefits or direction-to-pay form before you sign.
- Ask how they measure dryness. Good crews document moisture readings until materials are dry.
